The Greek cooking at this International Drive chain link is “solid” , “but the atmosphere is why people come” , especially “when the party really gets going” and guests “dance on the tables, throw napkins in the air” and shake it with belly dancers; “friendly” service and “down-to-earth” prices are other pluses, and though a few complain that it gets “way too loud” and is too much “like eating inside a nightclub” , more find it an “entertaining place” to “take family and friends.”

I went to Taverna Opa for the first time and I was not impressed. The wait was incredibly long. I understand it's a busy restaurant and I understand there's always a wait period. The food was under cooked and we just ordered 2 appetizers because we were on our way to the movies, and the bill was extremely high almost $48.00 without tip. I had lemon water and my husband had one drink. In my opinion it is an overpriced restaurant for such small portions. I am very familiar with Greek foods as I have family from Greece. In my opinion they need to be more reasonable apart from tourists, there are Florida residents who lives here and makes min wages.

Good fun place. We are here on a Friday night. The hours are great, opened until 2AM. We saw two cakes with a flare candle brought up by a dancer. She proceeded to dance on very sturdy tables with the birthday person. Lighting is appropriate. Music is loud though and a normal conversation is impossible. Prices are reasonable for the location. The whole place looks like a big party. Fresh humus and pita bread for the table is complimentary. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. We ordered lamb and shrimp kebobs. The food came within 15 minutes of ordering so quickly. Presentation was great. Taste was great as well. Would definitely recommend this place for the food and atmosphere.

I must say, being Greek and knowing good Greek food, they have some great meals here at Opa. There are a few things I don't like, the main one being the hummus they serve. They basically give it to you the beans in a mortar and pestle and let you work it to your desired consistency. That often isn't fine enough and the taste is just different. Drinks are fabulous, try a few of them. They love to dance on tables and throw napkins all over the place so be ready to have some fun. As I say, Go Greek at least once a week! :)
