The Lobster Club
Luxe spot for sushi and teppanyaki
Japanese · East 50s · $$$$
This high-end Midtown Japanese in the former Four Seasons, helmed by chef Tasuku Murakami (Sushi Azabu), focuses on sushi from Tokyo’s Tsukiji market as well as teppanyaki dishes. The loungey Peter Marino–designed space feels both retro and slightly futuristic with striking pops of color.

What's not to like about this ultra trendy Midtown spot. Contemporary Japanese food was really tasty and varied. Mostly small plates allow for more options. The Sake selection was great, and the desserts creative. However, it can get expensive in a hurry.

Very good atmosphere. The skirt steak was amazing even though we were so full, relatively the whole lobster was ordinary, maybe because I had eaten too much before that.. The egg shrimp rice was good but a little bit too oily which killed appetite. Sushi were definitely very fresh and excellent ingredients, you will love them. Cocktails(Jessamine what what) is ok. Spicy tuna appetizer was good but didn’t beyond expectation.

Great atmosphere. Daters paradise. Excellent selection of drinks, exotic and otherwise. Masters of the "Short Fill."
