This West Village American from chef John Fraser (Narcissa, Dovetail, NIX) takes its inspiration from coastal taverns and European brasseries, serving seasonal, group-friendly plates with a twist on both comfort-food dishes and cocktails. Very cool spot. Nice bar to the left when you walk in and dining tables and booths going back. Went on a Tuesday and it got pretty scene-y in there and the music was a little too loud but it made it a fun place to be. The cocktails are great. The apps were good. The entrees were good. The dessert was good. Nothing really stood out that'd I'd really go out of my way to recommend (although the burger looked tasty if you're in the mood). All around a great spot, just not five stars food wise (for me).

Elegant casual setting with interesting brunch menu and lots of potential. Lots of staff shuffling around but often missed customer signal for need of service. Polenta is excellent and egg white tasted just right. Good ingredients for smashed beet toasted but it was not smashed enough and keep falling apart. Coffee okay. Skip any of the juice- they serve them with ice, yuk! And the pancake is literally cake in a pan- mine was raw in the middle and their response for construction criticism is that the pancake is meant to be custard like.... if you go in winter, warning that the toilets are not air conditioned (icy cold). Lastly try the monkey bread. It's melt in your mouth bread pudding! I really like the place I hope that are more consistent in the food quality!!

Elegant, dark, intimate interiors. Food is great. Piedmontese Burger — simple, juicy, bursting with flavor; bun is soft but holds its integrity. The duck fat tots can be skipped though, they’re a bit salty. Beet salad — amazing, fresh, vibrant, delicious; definitely order this. S’mores baked Alaska — the meringue was light and fluffy, the graham cracker had a nice crunch, and the ice cream had a nice espresso kick Flood Gates (cocktail) — very good and fruity Service was friendly and informed.
