“Meatballs rule” at these sandwich shops slinging “reliable” “mix-and-match” balls (meat, chicken, veggie) paired with “lots” of sauces, plus “snappy cocktails” , “nice beers on tap” and “sinful” ice cream sandwiches; “millennials” and the stroller set keep things “boisterous” , but at least tabs are “gentle.”

You get this sheet with checklists and a whiteboard marker and you get to compose your own meatball dish/dishes. Simple and tasty! Had meatballs with tomato sauce and spaghetti. Probably would've wanted bit more pasta if it was dinner rather than lunch. For dessert I had vanilla ice cream with a snickerfudge cookie and coffee. Just a very basic place, with basic food. Who doesn't love a nice meatball? Also, it's Italian American meatballs. No Swedish ones on the menu sadly.

I liked the simplicity of the menu and the ease to select the meatballs and sauce. The staff was pleasant and let us choose where we sit. The meatballs were good, fun to try, but not the best ever if that makes sense. I don’t know if this is a nyc thing, but when we received our receipt to leave tip, there wasn’t a breakdown of meal vs tax.

Great service (it's sort of fun to mark up those menus, isn't it?) -- and great prices. They always have cool rotating specials, including a risotto and meatball of the day, and they have so many different ways to eat the meatballs, so many sauces, and so many sides, that everytime going here can be a different experience. The house wine is very decent and you'll find plenty of beers as well.
