Ever “chic” , Jean-Georges Vongerichten's “still buzzy” SoHo vet in the Mercer Hotel is touted for “enjoyable” Franco-American cooking offered in “dimly lit” subterranean digs; despite some “snobbish” ‘tudes and “pricey” tabs, the “great location” and “models-’r’-us” vibe keep it ever “bustling.”

We were very satisfied with all the food we ordered. All tastes good ! The reason why I don't give 5 stars because of the service. The waiter seems lack of patience and passion. The problem is not just on the waiter who took our order. Same problem is also on other waiters who clean up the table too. They cleaned up the plates in rush and took the french fries basket away while it was still half full and I was still eating. If they have already done their best on customer service, it would be management problem and I don't blame on the waiters. The food is good and I hope they can pay more attention on customer service.

This is a great dining experience. We were seated downstairs very quickly. I had the roasted sea bass which was very delicious. Our waiter was attentive and the restaurant has a great, laid back atmosphere.

I once came here and the table next to us was 3 adults who got into a seething argument and they all stormed out separately (someone did pay for their wine), and it was a riveting, amazing experience that we bonded with the waitstaff over. As a result I have zero memory of the meal, but I'm sure the food was good (at least, it wasn't bad!). However, I know that with all the excitement I accidentally left my credit card with my signed slip and left the restaurant. I called them when I realized, they had indeed found my card. They agreed to hold it until the next day, and I stopped in over lunch to pick it up. They were gracious and kind and helpful about the whole thing, and I didn't have to cancel my card!
