This River Place "treasure" serves "sumptuous" , "inventive" seafood and steakhouse fare plus "phenomenal" cocktails in a sleek, minimalist room; although some suggest it's a bit "past its prime" and caution it "can set you back a surprising amount" , most are happy to dine in style with a river view.

I was pretty disappointed about my experience here on Valentine’s night. I will preface with saying that I had visited here previously for a work dinner and thought it was pretty good. My husband made reservations on Valentine’s night, so we were seated timely by a window. Our waitress, however, was very poor. It started with my husband asking about the Bourbon list, she had no clue. Because I am pregnant, I asked about mock-tails, but she kept offering wine. I asked for a virgin mojito, but i received a glass of sour mix:(. I kept asking the waitress for a sparkling water, but that never happened. When our appetizer arrived, the fried brussels, they had no flavor. Once we finally received bread, it was hard and clearly was not fresh. We tried not to complain and just rolled with the experience. Finally, I got my dinner (perch), the perch was covered in soggy cornmeal and it just tasted awful. I tried to just eat the mashed potatoes and they were hard/cold. I did let the waitress know and she offered to reheat. Never would I reheat perch! So, I settled for a 6 ounce filet with mashed potatoes. Our waitress, who obviously does not listen well, brought me a 6 ounce fillet with cauliflower mash with cheese. I cannot eat cheese. My husband got the surf and turf which he said was pretty tasty. He asked for a glass of Malbec with his meal, but she never got back to us on whether he could have it by the glass (since it didn’t make since to buy a bottle when I cannot drink). The experience was so poor we skipped out on dessert. Pretty bummed we spent our Valentine’s night dinner here because my husband had just come in from a long trip to Germany. We will not be back. On our way out, I think one of the managers could even tell we weren’t happy with our experience. I only gave 3 stars here, because my husband did enjoy his meal and the manager at the door did care enough to want to know why we were not completely satisfied.

Great place for a wedding! Food was wonderful. The help was outstanding. ERIC, was so helpful I couldn't believe it. He deserves a raise! Thanks for all the hospitality. James Jayson

I've always had a good experience here whether it's a lunch, small conference, or event at the bar. The outdoor eating area is a great addition and you can go for a stroll on the RiverWalk afterwards.
