“Paying homage to its predecessor, Elaine’s” , this UES American is lined with photos of “famous patrons” from back in the day, while their literary works enjoy pride of place in the “inviting” rear study; expect “solid” food, “friendly” service and a bar “packed” with a “fiftysomething crowd.”

I had a great, upscale brunch today at WR. The menu is fresh and food is delicious. I had the avocado toast with poached egg. So tasty. Though we didn’t do the brunch special, the idea that $35 buys you a meal and up to 5 drinks competes with any all you can drink brunch in the city... in a much classier setting. Definitely worth a try for an upscale brunch.

Food is really good. Kitchen is making an effort to get the flavors and the presentation on the plate right. Portions are a bit on the small side, prices above average (compared to other restaurants in Yorkville). Preferred area is all the way in back by the library/living room. Nice relaxed ambiance there.
