Tico Boston

The Zagat Review
At this “energetic” Back Bay “experience” , chef-owner Michael Schlow serves an “imaginative” , small plate–centric menu that marries “vivid” Pan-Latin and New American flavors; a “cool tequila list” fuels the “party atmosphere” in the “dark” digs, and though you might “spend a lot of money” here, most agree it’s “worth every penny.”

Extremely friendly staff who are very knowledgeable about the allergen content of the food. Innovative tapas menu, creative cocktail menu. The rosewater flip and the blood orange margarita are a must try! Service was fast, and everything was cooked perfectly. Minus one star for tortillas being cooked in a shared fryer with gluten containing items. I would have loved to try the guacamole sampler- it's too bad that a substitution of radish chips, carrots, or celery could not have been provided for those of us who are celiac.

Food was innovative and delicious. Friendly, attentive service by Puspa R. was as good as we've had anywhere from Maine to Mexico, San Francisco to the Caribbean and Costa Rica! Delightful evening. Very reasonable prices. Do yourself a favor and try this place.

Wow! Some of the best hospitality I certainly have ever received. We walked in for a birthday dinner, and were immediately given a special table. Our meals were brought out in the order that we requested, and the drinks were wonderful. One of the waitresses brought out a free drink on the house for my fiancee for her birthday! Food dishes I would recommend (based on what we had): duck confit quesidilia, octopus (grilled), fish tacos, and cheesecake. The wait staff were SUPER friendly to us, and answered all of our questions in a prompt manner. They were extremely accomodating to my fiancée's allergies (nuts and shellfish). Our waiter even deducted the cheesecake off the final check because it was my fiancée's birthday - what a nice guy! Overall, extremely happy and even left my email to get updates and come back with my friends for a chef Leo's night.
