Tiger Mama
Southeast Asian fare in exotic digs
Asian · Fenway/Kenmore · $$
Inspired by Thai, Vietnamese and other Southeast Asian cuisines, 'Top Chef' alum Tiffani Faison takes a walk on the wild side at this "magical" Fenway-area dining den (located near her barbecue joint, Sweet Cheeks Q), serving "experimental" , "incredibly tasty" plates, plus "thoughtfully crafted" tiki-style cocktails; there's an urbane-meets-exotic edge to the "ritzy" space, which features a living wall of herbs, and no one minds if prices run somewhat "high" given the "fun atmosphere."

First off Kelly the manager was amazing and deserves the praise. We had a 8:45 reservation for which we showed up for at 8:15. Knowing we were going to wait we made our way to the back bar for a drink. Unfortunately the bar was very busy and we were not able to get a drink. After moving back to the Host stand to inquire about our reservation we met Kelly. My friend mentioned our 20 minutes at the back bar without getting a drink to her and she insisted on getting us a round of drinks. Totally unnecessary but very much appreciated. Once we sat the service was amazing, food was great and Kelly checked in to make sure of such. After our meal I asked for our left overs to be boxed. There was some sort of spill and we were informed that we were getting new food, again, not necessary. I have worked in the food industry for almost 10 years and really appreciate managers like Kelly. Oh, and it's my birthday. Great job Kelly!

Great elevated Southeast Asian/Asian fusion cuisine. They recommend ordering family style with around 2 dishes per person. We loved the Singapore Street Noodles, Pig Rice, and Lamb Roti, but the Crispy Pork Ribs were a little disappointing in the amount and price. The service was pretty good even though we were there at a busy time Friday night. We went during Chinese New Year- they had a special menu, they gave out red pockets, and had someone doing caricatures as well, which made for a very fun atmosphere. However, for a restaurant that seems to focus on aesthetic and vibes with the red-colored lighting, fake plants, and neon sign, the dishes aren't all that pleasing to the eye even if they are delicious. But overall, it was a great experience and I'd love to go back to check out more of their dishes. Great date night restaurant!

Tiger Mama serves some of the best Thai food I've ever had. They strive for authenticity so if people are expecting typical pad thai, you'll be disappointed. If you are ready to experience the heat, the flavor, the spice, run here now. The place is fun, great bar drinks, the Mala mushrooms are about the best bar snack I've ever had. Never had a bad dish or a bad time. I'd live here if I could. Favorite restaurant in mainland Boston
