There’s “often a line” to get into this longtime Village Japanese touted for its “massive slabs” of “mouthwatering” sushi; “tiny” , “nothing-fancy” digs aside, they “do not skip on the quality.”

You simply cannot get better sushi than Tomoe, not at any price. The portions of fish are very generous and the quality is outstanding! Gyoza and fried oysters were excellent. I think I can sit there all day and try everything on the menu without disappointment! If you don't mind a kitschy, no frills atmosphere, don't go anywhere else! You could very well pay triple the price at a fancier place but you can't eat atmosphere! They open at 1, close at 3, then reopen. Lines can get long. Best bet for lunch is to arrive 12:30 and hedge, but there seemed to be a lull around 2:15.

Plum wine was great. Sushi deluxe works, and includes nigiri. Banana Tempura dessert has different textures and temperatures, it's. amazing. Kinda expensive though. :/

One of my favorite places. Bar/restaurant modeled after a Chris-craft boat. Great food and exceptional service.
