Tony's Pizza Napoletana
Lively pizzeria with varied pie types
Pizza · North Beach · $$
The Zagat Review
"It's hard to find a better pie" than those among the "great variety" of "incredible" pizzas (Neapolitan-style, "Sicilian, Californian, Roman" , even "gluten-free" ) that famed chef-owner Tony Gemignani tosses and cooks to a crisp in seven types of ovens at his "lively" "North Beach gem" ; a "brutal" wait for a table is part of the package, but a "motivated" staff keeps things humming.

Great Food. A must go to. During busy hour female waitress got my beer wrong 3 times. Every other guy got pint glasses and I got a petite glass. Even though she didn't charge me. The Belgium beer was very good. New Yorker pizza with Basel yummy!!! 5 stars. I gave the waitress a 4 star.

I have gone to many pizza places, I’ve been to Naples, to the supposed “best pizza place in the world,” I personally love pizza and am always looking for great places near me, I always go with the classic margarita, because if a pizza place can’t get that right, then they probably can’t get anything else right. First, you walk in, and from what I can tell it’s always packed, so their is a 20+minutes wait for parties of 1-2+, but the wait is worth it, once you sit down the service is great, the waiters are very friendly, the wait for your food can be quite long depending on what you order and how much you order, easily another 20+minutes. The food itself is amazing, the margarita pizza is easily one of the best I have ever had. It’s a very good, thin crusted pizza, not to floppy but not to stiff, the ingredients that make it up taste amazing, the dough is soft and the sauce and cheese taste amazing. If you are willing to wait a little for some amazing pizza, I would 100% recommend Tony’s

Great Pizza w/ a reasonable wait time located in a nice SF location. Stopped here for lunch cause it's on so many lists and I was not disappointed. The menu is full of so many pizza options that I already have a plan to return for more pizza! We ended up getting 2 different types of pizza and both were quite good. The service was a little slow, but not overly so. The outdoor sitting was nice but that's because it was a beautiful day for it :) If you love pizza, you should definitely give this place a shot.
