“Amazing” tapas “bring Barcelona to Boston” at this South End Spaniard from chefs Jamie Bissonnette and Ken Oringer that’s arguably “one of the best” for small plates in the city; the rustic-chic space can get “overwhelmingly crowded” (especially at dinner, when the no-reservations policy makes seating “a challenge” ), but it’s “worth the wait” to “see and be seen” in such a “fun atmosphere.”

AMAZING! Four of us dined at Toro New Year's Eve for dinner. Great sharing small plates, trying different flavors and foods. And then, we shared the Paella!!! Out of this world! The service was probably the best I have ever experienced. This was a packed New Year's Eve lively restaurant and I felt like we were the only guests. Our waitress told us about all the menu items and even went to the chef to find out the history of an item we inquired about. And then, we had a guest with a major food allergy. The waitress brought the menu to the chef, and brought it back marked with what she could eat. And then....each small plate that was delivered to us throughout the night, by various servers was announced if it could be eaten with the food allergy. I could go on and on about Toro and we all can't wait to go back!

My favorite tapas spot in Boston. There is an extensive menu of small and medium plates. We always over order because everything is so good. The drink menu is extensive and the bartenders make some of the best cocktails in Boston. The space is small and gets very crowded but the overall atmosphere is relaxed. Come early or late to avoid a long wait. It's first come first seated, so no reservations.

Worth the wait! Delicious from cocktail to dessert. Attentive service. It is a compact and noisy restaurant, so just be aware of that. Expect a 1-2 hour wait on a weekend night, so a good strategy is to put your name in well ahead of when you plan to eat, then go find somewhere nearby to wait.
