"If you're a carnivore, this is your restaurant" rave fans of this rustic Mid-City meatery, where chef/co-owner Isaac Toups' contemporary Cajun menu features "fantastic" house-cured charcuterie, some of the "best" cracklin's around and other "Flintstones-sized" hunks of meat – "it's so good you could eat it all, just not on the same day" ; paired with a cocktail pitcher or a beer from the "mostly local" selection, everything "tastes like happiness."

Just had the most amazing dinner at Toups again! We started with the cheese and the meat board, must try. All of our entrees were wonderful. I had the Couvillion and my boyfriend had the pork chop, the special salad was also super fresh. The service and drinks were excellent. Can't wait to go back!

Toups Meatery is an outstanding experience, lunch or dinner! Toups' talented back-of-house, led by Chef-owner Isaac Toups, is driven and passionate about their well composed, locally-sourced Cajun fare. Specials change daily and have been known to sell out, especially on the weekends, so be sure to make reservations. Their wait staff is well trained and knowledgeable about the food and drink pairings. General Manager, Larry Nguyen, does an excellent job keeping the wine and spirits fresh and changing often. The atmosphere is rustic and unpretentious. I would make this a definite stop for locals and visitors alike. Come hungry, with a bit curiosity, and you will leave happy!

Great food, smaller portions then the American sized plates were all used to, but this is a more upscale plated cuisine. The boudan is amazing!!
