The Zagat Review
Given its name (which roughly translates as ‘non-kosher’), look for “lots of pork and shellfish” on the “innovative” Eclectic menu of this “intimate” Williamsburg “winner” , featuring a small plates–centric format geared toward “sharing” ; regulars say “splurging on the tasting menu” is the way to go.

Food and atmosphere is OK. Nothing life changing. Made a reservation for a Friday night for four people. We were seated immediately. Our group decided to do the chef tasting. All items came out as they were prepared. Had a good selection of options and we were able to pick and choose, they also take note of dietary restrictions. Wine list was great.

I came here for New Year's Eve and tried the chef's tasting menu. It was 75/pp with 8 courses and 2 desserts. The courses here are small, and provides a sample of the menu. It's more of a tapas style I'd say so you may leave not being full. Bacon Broth: It was a good sample of bacon broth. The flavor was rich, and I can imagine myself dipping bread, or having a soup based on this broth. Fish with avocado: Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of this dish but it was my favorite. The fish was fresh and the avocado paired well with it. It was refreshing. Scallops: DELICIOUS. I'd have to update my review one day when I go back, since I don't remember much. To skip to the desserts since I don't remember the name of the food I had, their bacon donuts was really good. I don't like bacon much, but the donuts were good and moist.

Have been to Traif multiple times for dinner. We recommended the place to our friends and decided to take them out to this restaurant. We arrived, ordered food and wine. Our food came and we had gone through the bottle of wine and decided to get another. However, as our food was still on the table and we were still eating it, the waiter came back and informed us that they couldn't give us another bottle of wine because we "ran out of time" and had to leave in exactly 7 minutes. Their explanation was that they had another patron arriving and we had to vacate. Never coming back here again after being embarrassed in front of our friends!
