Four friends and I had one night in Asheville and we heard good things about Tupelo. We beat the dinner rush (I'd recommend to get there before 6 or call 30 minutes ahead). We were seated in the back corner table in the outdoor section. It is heated out there, but we were still very very cold so we asked the hostess for a table change. We were told there was a wait at first and so after 20 minutes we asked again and they agreed to move us inside. Mid-move, the disgruntled hostess sent us back to the outdoor section. Ten minutes later, we were finally moved to an indoor table. We were sad to leave our original waitress (outdoor section) because she was extremely accommodating, pleasant, and knowledgeable. Our new waitress, on the other hand, was extremely short and not hospitable. This was fine in the beginning-we weren't bothered by the personality difference. However, there was a point where our waitress expressed and imposed her political beliefs upon our party. After this awkward exchange in which we very politely declined her request, she was flat out rude. Even when we said "thank you" after she refilled waters, took plates, handed out checks, etc., She refused to acknowledge us. The cocktails were wonderful (I recommend the honeysuckle lavender or blueberry Beauregard). The crispy Brussels (snack section-don't get the side Brussels) were also really really good! Despite the tasty drinks and appetizer, Tupelo has lost our patronage.

I'm normally the grumpy old guy "at heart" that only leaves reviews if I'm disappointed in the service an establishment, so it takes mind blowing service to make me leave a good review. So here it is... per usual male I waited last minute to find reservation for Valentine's Day dinner for my lovely wife. I called and they had a time perfect for us. I get here and we're seated right away and the food came out faster than I could have ever expected, which is an important thing for me coming off of a 10 hour shift. The waitress was great and the food was truly amazing. I don't get many opportunities to spend an evening with my wife but this was one for the record books thanks to the food and staff. Thank you so much

Would eat here again! Delicious. Delicious. Sweet potato pancakes with fried chicken. Just excellent. Worth the 45 minute wait. Benefit is they text you when your table is ready so you can walk around shops while waiting for a table to open up
