Hip spot for inventive Thai food & drink

The Zagat Review
Something “different from the norm” , this “cutting-edge” NoLita hangout offers a “new-school” take on Thai cuisine via “vibrant flavors” and very “serious spicing” ; an “attentive” team tends the “knickknack” -filled basement space, where “must-try” beer slushies can be ordered from the “cozy” bar; its tiny Mott Street sib is a counter-serve, credit card–only outfit offering a takeout menu based on the original, with some seating available.

In New York for a week vacation From Vancouver Canada. My partner & I walked in on a very busy Saturday night after 10pm and we were told that there will be an hour wait. We didn't mind waiting because we ordered a cocktail by the bar and waited. We found out about Uncle Boons 2 years ago when we were in New York and we ended up going back 3x times during our last trip. We decided to go back again on this trip and the experience was still amazing. Everything was delicious!!!!! On a side note, Roxanne (the hostess) was adorable and wonderful. We remembered each other from the last time (2 years ago) when we were in!!! I guess that made us (including you Roxanne) very memorable. Haha. Thank you!

Wow what a great find! The chicken salad was delicious as well as the dessert (coconut ice cream). Overall one of the best dinners I've had in NYC in a long time. Ill be adding this place to my list of favorites. Don't miss out on trying the beer slushies! Tip: come before 6pm add your name to the list and grab a drink at one of the many nearby bars.

Ended up having a 90 minute wait time and an extra 20 minutes on top of that after they said our table was ready. HOWEVER! The food was amazing. I can't wait to go back. Get the grilled octopus and the sundae.
