Relocated from Greenwich Village to Chelsea, this “simple” Japanese by chef-owner Hideo Kuribara features the same “melt-in-your-mouth” sushi in larger digs anchored by a counter where you can “enjoy the show” ; omakase dining is the main draw, and “top prices” come with the territory.

Omakase is sashimi, variety of sushi and a hand-roll, very fresh fish from all over the world. Very good environment and quiet ambient for you to chat with chef. However I don’t speak Japanese and don’t quite understand some words from chef even after clarification. High recommend toro and sea urchin sushi, very tasty! Dessert is also included with omakase, lady M green tea slice, typical for lots of Japanese restaurants.

Too expensive for no reason. Food is great, but drinks (in my opinion) cost too much - for a cold sake.

Enjoyed the place and the food. Sushi was amazing. We also tried Omakase which was incredible. Highly recommended if you like Japanese food. Please note that ordering Omakase would take at least hour and a half by itself.
