Although “narrow” with just a “handful of tables” , this “welcoming” UES “hole-in-the-wall” does a brisk business thanks to its “delicious” , “straightforward” Turkish cuisine and “personal” service; “easy-on-the-wallet” prices seal the deal.

The ambience and decor was very nice, especially the gilded bronze ceiling. Was nice to sit in the window. Strange entrances, they really need a sign on the doors saying 'pull' as there are 2 doors, both just in the windows. The yoghurt based food I had was lovely and rich but the meat kebabs upset my stomach almost immediately after my meal. My dessert of baked rice pudding was disappointing, pretty tasteless, cold and not sweet. A few other people also had upset stomachs after the meal. Not great value either, $10 for 4 spring rolls of cheese and spinach is a bit much! Same for the $8 dessert, and expensive vine leaves too. Best thing about the meal was the unlimited fresh bread - should have just eaten that all night!

No complaints- filling portions, reasonable prices and a good selection of Turkish food. Lunch specials consist of set meals- 2 courses for $17 and 4 for $20. Two separate entrances- the room on the right has functioning A/C so avoid the left door in the summer.

The 4 course dinner special was great. Received bread for the table, an appetizer, salad, entree and dessert for $30pp. Portion sizes were perfect and our party of 9 really enjoyed their meals. Would recommend!
