Westlight
Rooftop cocktail bar with skyline views
Cocktail Bar · Williamsburg · $$
Panoramic skyline views from the terrace and glassed-in lounge are the big draw at this hot rooftop bar in Williamsburg’s William Vale Hotel, also offering a menu of crafty nibbles conceived by chef Andrew Carmellini (The Dutch, Locanda Verde). As expected, a well-curated cocktail list comes with the territory.

Celebrated my birthday here in January. It was amazing, the view is beyond spectacular. I felt like a sex in the city character. The music was good, not mainstream but it was like a refined house music instrumental. It was really difficult to get a reservation but trust me, you do not want to go without a reservation. You are better off calling the westlight instead of using open table. The lines were literally wrapped around the lobby. Everything is pricey but the view and ambiance in the space totally made up for it. Don't go here if you are hungry because the food is considered "small bites" which is smaller than tapas. Although, the food was excellent it was so tiny it just had you craving for more. Next thing you know you have ordered 15 thins at $15-20 pop. All in all the people are sexy, the vibe is good, the view is amazing and I will definitely love to experience this venue in the summer when standing out on the terrace wont leave you frost bitten. Even as expensive as it was I will still go there and order all 15 small bites and pay a $$$$$ for the night because I had fun. Perfect after dinner chill spot or just to gather and have a drink with friends.

Great views. Terrible service. Took us about 30 minutes to get a servers attention. Our food arrived before our wine. The quickest thing that arrived was our bill, which was promptly served to us as soon as our bottle was finished. Oh and *do not* sit outside facing the view - you’ll basically be surrounded by people taking pictures with their flash for the entire night - not a pleasant experience.

The best place to go for a complete view of the city. Beautiful interior. Lots of space and seating. You can make a reservation for a seat on open table - would definitely recommend doing so even if you aren’t planning on eating because it’s the only way to skip the line. We waited an hour to get in around 4:30 PM.. but it was well worth the wait.
