Yvonne's
Classy cuisine in a historic space
New American · Downtown · $$$
Inhabiting the historic former home of the venerable Locke-Ober, this "super-hopping" Downtown hideaway puts a "tongue-in-cheek" spin on the classic supper club, serving "incredible" New American cuisine, including communal plates, plus "well-crafted" , "imaginative" cocktails in a "speakeasy-style" atmosphere; flocked wallpaper, chandeliers and an "opulent" , mahogany-swathed Library Bar add "throwback" "glamour" to the "spectacular" space, making it a "must-visit."

Quite possibly the coolest bar in the City of Boston. It can be hard to get into on weekend nights without reservations, but once you do, you won't be disappointed. Yvonne's is part speakeasy/nightclub with a large hotel bar-y atmosphere. Very tasty and interesting menu. Great for cocktails and mingling.

This is a speakeasy for the young adult crowd, mostly from ages 25-40. Beautiful decor inside, bookshelves, fireplace, darkly lit, etc. and above-average cocktails for the Boston scene. There are select spaces for sit down dinners, which I haven't had, but the menu is in the "$$$" range. Overall a great place to enjoy drinks in a swanky atmosphere.

Not the best for food to be honest. Drinks are good, but you're really paying for the aesthetic here, not anything wrong with that. The hostess was weirdly confrontational. She asked if I had a reservation, I said I was meeting someone already inside. She then asked again if I had a reservation. I said I was meeting some inside. Once more, the reservation question in an annoyed manner. Like yo if I am meeting someone sitting down inside it doesn't matter whether or not a reservation was made since the table is already occupied by my people. On an afterthought, maybe she wanted to help me find the table, but explicitly saying that would have helped.
